Palestinian officials warn Trump of recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital

PLO Executive Committee Chairman Saeb Erekat referred to a report according to which US President Donald Trump would declare Jerusalem the capital of Israel on Wednesday and said that "any American recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel will be playing with fire."

Nabil Abu Rudaina, spokesman for Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, said that US recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel or the transfer of the embassy to it would seriously affect the future of the peace process and cause instability in the region.
