Netanyahu slams criticism against son: 'Trampling children with endless cruelty'
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu bemoaned Saturday night the treatment his son Yair has received from the media after recordings of him came to light making derogatory comments about women and boasting of the "deal" his father got his friend's father, gas mogul Kobi Maimon.
"Think how you would feel if your children had been trampled with endless cruelty, wickedness and hypocrisy," Netanyahu lamented before heading on a state trip to India. "I say this not just to the media, but also to public officials who have been tut-tutting with absurd sanctimoniousness and hypocrisy."
He went on to say that his son Yair, who was supposed to join him in India but cancelled his participation at the last minute, "is a young boy who loves the State of Israel with all of his soul. I thank the many citizens who backed Yair and us with warmth and humanity facing the inhumanity."
