CBS report Israel's population has multiplied by 11 since establishment

The Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics has reported that 8,842,000 residents are currently living in Israel, a number 11 times greater than the number of residents the state had when established.


15.2 million residents are expected to live in Israel at its 100th Independence Day celebration.


In addition, according to the CBS the Jewish population accounts for 6.6 million residents, while the Arab population accounts for 1.85 million residents and other miscellaneous populations account for 404,000 residents.
