Falash Mura threaten hunger strike if immigration issue continues to go ignored

The leaders of the Falash Mura community in Ethiopia told President Reuven Rivlin, who is visiting the country, that if the issue of immigration to Israel is not pushed up the agenda, they will go on a hunger strike.

The Falash Mura, a name given to the Jewish community in Ethiopia and Eritrea, have had issues with immigrating to Israel for years, which resulted in families being split between the countries.

Rivlin said he would pass on their demands to Interior Minister Aryeh Deri, who is also committed to the issue.
