Lieberman: 'If Syrian air defenses are turned against us, we'll respond'
Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman said in an interview to Russian daily Kommersant that, "We are not looking for confrontations with Russia and do not intend to meddle in its internal affairs, but if Syrian air defense systems are turned against us, we'll certainly retaliate."
Regarding the Iranian documents divulged by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last week, the defense minister said they "proved conclusively that Iran actively sought not merely uranium enrichment, but also nuclear weapons."
"They simple temporarily froze the program to maximize their gains from the deal," he explained.
