EU iterates continued support for Iran deal

The twenty eight representatives of European Union member states agreed after a Sofia summit meeting that a "unified approach" is necessary and that the Iran nuclear deal needs to be upheld, even after the withdrawal by US President Donald Trump.

The agreement needs to be maintained, the representatives said, "so long as Iran respects it and (the EU) will endeavor to protect European companies influenced by the American decision."
