Erdan: 'Assad has a lot to lose if he allows Iranian troops in Syria'

Minister of Public Security Gilad Erdan referred to the cooperation agreement signed by Iran and Syria Monday, saying that "we did not expect the Iranians to openly wave a white flag. This is an excuse made to legitimize the presence of Iranian forces in Syria."

In an interview with Ynet, Erdan added that "Assad will have a lot more to lose if he allows Israel's greatest enemy to establish grounds in Syria. I think that will get that message across over time."
