Yonatan Regev , 7, from Kibbutz Mefalsim rode out on his bike to see the fire caused by an incendiary balloon from Gaza not far from his home; 13-year-old Uriya Kabir captured the moment.

Seven-year-old Yonatan Regev from Kibbutz Mefalsim near the Gaza border was immortalized on Tuesday when 13-year-old Uriya Kabir, who lives in the same kibbutz, snapped a photo of him on his bicycle pedaling away from a fire caused by an incendiary balloon from the strip.

The photo, which Kabir posted on social media, was widely shared and went viral.

Yonatan and his friends were riding their bicycles in the area "to see what's going on near their home," said Yonatan's father Avishai. "But as soon as the fire spread, (firefighters) asked them to leave. It's an unpleasant experience; the entire kibbutz was covered in smoke."

This fire was one of six that blazed through Israeli communities on the Gaza border as a result of the Palestinian arson terrorism on Tuesday. The biggest conflagration was in the Gvar'am Nature Reserve in the Shaar Hanegev Regional Council, which scorched some 120 dunams (30 acres) of one of southern Israel's most beautiful nature sites.
