Bill permitting prosecution of polluting plants approved in 1st reading

The Knesset plenum approved Tuesday in its first reading a bill that permits the prosecution of polluting plants for damaged caused to the environment.

The bill was approved by a majority of 53 in favor, without objections or abstentions. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu voted in favor of the bill, which will be passed to the Internal Affairs and Environment Committee in preparation for its second and third readings.
