Haredim obtain their funds from work, yeshivot (yes, they get paid and most of the money yeshivot have comes from donations, a lot from rich U.S. Jews), and some from bituah leumi. The bituah leumi cut a lot of the family allowance so stop saying they live off our tax money, for they don't get that much from bituah leumi. They manage with less income by living frugally, by most standards, dressing their kids with hand-me-downs, people's donations and discounts at city hall. They have a lot of organizations that cater to the needs of the haredi family by providing food at lower cost, as well as clothes, etc. They're also very community oriented and help one another. I would also like to see more of the men working and also serve in the IDF but at least I know that they don't depend solely on my taxes, not more so than the elderly, the sick, the handicapped, the unemployed and the lazy.
