TEL AVIV – When Arnie met Bibi: Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in Los Angeles on Friday for a two-hour breakfast.

At first, the discussion centered on economic issues, with Schwarzenegger telling Netanyahu about policies he introduced in California.

“I lowered taxes, cut budgets, and reformed education,” the legendary movie star told the finance minister, who responded with a smile and told Schwarzenegger the policies sound remarkably similar to those adopted by Bibi in Israel.

Later, Netanyahu told Schwarzenegger about steps he undertook to bring about an economic recovery and stimulate growth, with the governor conceded Bibi was well ahead of him.

‘I’ll be back’

Following the breakfast meeting, Netanyahu and Schwarzenegger’s wives joined in. The couples have already met in the past, before Schwarzenegger become governor.

During the meeting, Netanyahu invited the governor to visit Israel. Schwarzenegger did not hesitate and replied with “I’ll be back,” a famous quote from his Hollywood days.

Netanyahu is currently in the United States on a six-day visit, where he has been meeting with investors interested in Israel and Jewish representatives, and also submitting to interviews with American media outlets.
