Club staff stabbed by drunk youths
When security staff asked disorderly group to leave club, a riot broke out, and two guards were stabbed; one is moderately injured, another is lightly wounded
Yet another weekend of club violence - Police have arrested five suspects after two security staff were stabbed at a Herzliya nightclub in the early hours of Saturday morning.
One of the security staff was moderately injured and another was lightly injured. Both were evacuated to a Tel Aviv hospital.
The incident took place close to 4:30 Saturday morning, when a riot broke out in the Herzliya nightclub.
According to reports, a group of drunken youths at the began behaving in a disorderly way, causing others at the club to complain.
Security staff then decided to eject the youths from the premises. When the youths were asked to leave, they refused, and a riot then broke out.
In the midst of the confrontation two security guards were stabbed. The youths then immediately fled the scene. Paramedics were rushed to the club, and began treating the injured men.
Murdered while stepping out for air
Last week, Sergeant Nidal Mansoor, a 20 year-old soldier from Osafiya, was shot and killed in the early morning hours outside a south Haifa club. Police suspect that the attackers were local men who were denied entry into the club.
Police arrested two brothers, Dudu (30) and Roee Chapana, Haifa residents, who are known to police due to previous drug offences. A Haifa police investigation revealed that the brothers attempted to enter a number of clubs in the area, accompanied by other friends, but were denied access to all the clubs. When they arrived at the Rocco Beach club, an argument began at the entrance with security staff, after the group refused to go through a security check.
Later, shots were fired in the direction of doormen and clubbers who stood at the entrance to the clubs.
Mansoor, who arrived at the club with a friend, was outside at the time for fresh air, and was injured in the shooting. He was rushed to the Rambam hospital in Haifa, where he died of his injuries while in surgery.
