Terrorist defining himself as 'No. 1 Jihad warrior' publishes 80-page 'nuclear-weapon-making encyclopedia' on Internet
The "Encyclopedia" was published on 6 October in the Islamic Internet forum "al-Firdus" (Paradise) by a person nicknamed "Lion of Islam". A link to a slightly different version of the "encyclopedia" appeared on 9 October in a Yahoo discussion group called "Mujahideen."
The "encyclopedia", which consisted of nine lessons and approximately 80 pages in Arabic, was published under the title "Jihad's nuclear bomb and the way to enrich uranium" as "a gift to the Jihad warriors' commander, Sheikh Osama Bin Laden for the Jihad for the sake of Allah."
The "encyclopedia" was published as a "scientific research of the no. 1 Jihad warrior", who wrote that "For two years now I have been studying nuclear physics through the scientific forums and the different Jihad forums. In addition, I am studying the technology of missiles and different kinds of explosives and charges."
"I believe that the strategic balance of Jihad warriors on the military level will remain unchanged without proper scientific progress. However, this progress, along with the (required) experiments, entails the existence of labs. Therefore, I have tried, my Jihad warrior brother, to make these experiments simple and within your reach or (that they may be performed) – as it is customary to say – in the kitchen," he adds.
The introduction to the "encyclopedia" also says that "nuclear weapons may be a technology of the 1940's. However, the crusaders, the devil's allies - may Allah curse them - insist on preventing Jihad warriors from (obtaining) this weapon. But now, Jihad warriors have acquired the technological expertise that enables them, with the help of Allah, to understand this technology. Thus, they can experience a quantum leap in the preparation of such strategic weapons, even in the kitchens of their homes."
The introduction is followed by the nine lessons, which include a historical review of the evolution of nuclear weapons, explanations about natural radioactivity, nuclear characteristics of certain substances, critical mass, preparation of nuclear weapons and radium production.
Bin Laden's nuclear reservoir
It seems that this cannot be degraded. Special and expanded publications of the Saudi newspaper al-watan, also based on Paul L. Williams' recent book "The Al Qaeda Connection: International Terrorism, Organized Crime, And the Coming Apocalypse", report that al-Qaeda has managed to strike a number of unconventional weapon deals while its activists were in Sudan, South Africa and Chechnya, before establishing a special unconventional weapon center in the Balkans.
The newspaper also reported that Bin Laden managed to get hold of uranium and that "his dream is to strike the U.S. with unconventional weapons has come true."
According to Williams, the millions of dollars al-Qaeda has succeeded in collecting through drug dealing have been transferred to three wars: the war in Afghanistan, the war in Kosovo and the attacks on the U.S. and American destinations.
According to Williams, during the chaos created after the fall of the Soviet Union, an illegal trade in nuclear weapons began, and the weapons were mainly sold to North Korea, Libya and al-Qaeda.
"Under this situation," the newspaper publication said, "The Chechen mafia became the strongest body in Russia for the smuggling of nuclear materials to other countries and organizations."
"In 1993, members of this mob managed to get hold of a significant amount of enriched uranium from Kazakhstan. Thus, for example, 6 kilograms were transferred from Groznyy to Istanbul, but only 2.5 kilograms were captured by the Interpol in the possession of Iranian Sunnis and Turkish workers. The rest of the stuff disappeared," the publication added.
