Iran confirms Islamic group captured 9 of its soldiers

Iran confirmed Monday that nine soldiers have been captured by an Islamic group in southeastern Iran and the government was studying how to win their release, the official Islamic Republic News Agency reported.

"The Interior Ministry is probing the case in order to release them. The Iranian government will do its best to provide security," IRNA quoted government spokesman Gholamhossein Elham as saying. He did not elaborate. (AP)
