IDF shows assassination video

Air Force and artillery keep up attack on Gaza Qassam rocket launchers; IDF not panicked by Qassam attacks. 'Our policy has proven itself. We see results,' says army official, as IAF releases video of drone involved in assassination operation

Over 300 artillery shells have been fired at recent days into Gaza, around 20 aerial strikes were carried out, four of them directed at targets involving terrorists behind Qasam rocket attacks.

In one of the targeted strikes carried out on Monday, two al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades members were killed.

The IDF has released footage taken by the aerial drone as it carried out the assassination.

Hours after the falling of a Qassam rocket in the Ashkelon industrial zone, the IDF has expressed satisfaction from the results of its ongoing operation in the Gaza Strip.

"Our policy has proven itself," said an army source. "We are already seeing results from the intensive operations in Gaza. The firing of Qassam rockets is decreasing, but there is still no magic solution," the source added.

A Ynet check found that since the withdrawal of the IDF from Gaza, 45 terrorists were killed, half of them from aerial targeted strikes.

Terror attack prevented

On Wednesday morning, the army prevented a terror attack in northern Gaza and thwarted another.

On the other hand, around 10 rockets have landed in Israeli territory, a number of people have been lightly to moderately injured, and a small amount of damage has been caused.

"We've created a situation in which we dictate the daily routine," said a source in the IDF. "There is no answer to every Qassam, but the answer, its character, and timing are determined by us," the source said.

At the same time, the IDF is continuing to reply to rocket attacks with artillery fire at Qassam launch sites in an increasingly intensive operation which began over the weekend, after a Qassam rocket hit a family home in Karmiya, injuring a baby.

The IDF and the Southern Command are working hard to come up with solutions to the threat posed by a primitive and improvised missile, and which relatively causes almost no damage.

The army admits that limitations set by the political rank represent a huge challenge to proving an answer to rockets. "This is our mission, and we have to carry it out as best as possible," said the army source.

"At the end, the Palestinian side has 40 killed, all of them terrorists who attempted to harm us, and we have very few injuries. In our opinion this is a gain and we must continue," he added.

The source also said that the IDF planned to work in the same manner in the coming days: "The plan is to carry on operating in an intensive manner. We have no plans to stop at this stage, unless a significant change is seen on the other side."
