An IDF soldier has been lightly injured at the Hore Junction in the Negev, after being attacked and having his M-16 rifle stolen.
At around 9 p.m. Thursday night, police received a message about a soldier lying injured at a post. Police and army forces were mobilized to the area, and paramedics were sent to the scene from Beer Sheva.
Yagil Avin, a Magen David Adom paramedic who treated the soldier, told Ynet: "We saw a solder lying on the sidewalk near the hitchhiking post at the junction. Police had arrived at the scene and began treating him until we got there. The soldier told us he was suffering from burns to his faces; we washed his face with disinfectant material and transferred him to Soroka hospital."
A police investigation found that the two suspects, who had Arab appearances, arrived at the hitchhiking post in a white Toyota.
After receiving descriptions of the vehicle, police set up road blocks in the area and began a hunt for the suspects.
