Islamic Jihad suspect killed in Nablus

An Islamic Jihad terror suspect was killed in clashes between IDF troops and Palestinian gunmen in the West Bank city of Nablus on Monday, Palestinian sources said.
The IDF confirmed that a senior Islamic Jihad wanted suspect was killed, two were injured and four were arrested. Twelve terror suspects were arrested overnight in West Bank raids overnight, including a senior Islamic Jihad member.
The IDF launched operation “Northern Lights” on Saturday in a bid to deal a blow to Islamic Jihad terror cells operating in Nablus. The defense establishment reported a rise in terror warnings stemming from the West Bank town since the January 25 legislative elections.
According to Palestinian witnesses one of the gunmen injured in Monday’s operation died of his wounds.
Qassam rockets lands north of Gaza
On Sunday two Palestinians were killed in the Balata refugee camp as they attempted to ambush IDF troops in operating in the area. Seven Palestinians were injured in the operation.
In the town of Kabatiya, south of Jenin, three Islamic Jihad suspects were arrested. Two Hamas members and a Tanzim activist were arrested in the Bethlehem area.
Earlier Monday, a Qassam rocket was fired at Israel and landed in an open field north of Gaza.
