Local beauty queen, NBA player get hitched

Some 150 people attend wedding of Israeli model and former Miss Universe Linor Aberjil and Lithuanian Indiana Pacers guard Sarunas Jasikevicius, who is not Jewish; civil ceremony held at picturesque Spanish village, another ceremony in Israeli kibbutz scheduled for Sunday

Some 150 people attended the wedding of Israeli model and former Miss Universe Linor Aberjil and Lithuanian Indiana Pacers guard Sarunas Jasikevicius, who is not Jewish.

The civil ceremony was held at a mansion in a picturesque Spanish village just outside Barcelona.

Bodyguards in black suits and sunglasses prevented the paparazzi from approaching the mansion, and the relatively few guests arrived during the evening hours in buses, private cars and taxi cabs.

Pao Gasol, the Spanish star center of the Memphis Grizzlies, was the last to arrive behind the couple’s limousine.

The lavish event was only the first of the couple’s celebrations: Some 500 people are expected to take part in another less intimate wedding ceremony, which is set to be held this Sunday at Kibbutz Gaash.

Aberjil’s wedding dress for the event was designed by Pnina Turne, and the Hebrews of Dimona band will provide the entertainment.

The event falls on the same day and time as the World Cup final, but the couple apparently prefers not to show the game on a big screen TV during the wedding.
