French minister: Israel has right to defend itself

French Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy said “Israel must defend itself, and it had the right to do so.”
“There is an aggressive element in the Middle East, and that is Hizbullah. As friends of Israel we must advise it to maintain level-headedness and restraint,” he said. (AFP)
