6 troops injured in southern Lebanon

While an aerial ceasefire has been declared Sunday, the IDF continues its ground operations in Lebanon. Six soldiers injured in action in southeast sector, three Hizbullah gunmen killed

Six IDF soldiers were wounded Sunday night during military operations in the southeast Lebanese village of al-Tayyiba. One of the troops sustained moderate injuries and the others were lightly wounded. The incident occurred when Hizbullah terrorists who were waiting for the force at the entrance to the village opened fire at the soldiers. The troops responded with fire, killing three of the gunmen.

The IDF continued to operate in Lebanon's southeast sector throughout the night, after on Sunday ground forces deployed across the region west of Metula. During the activity near the village of al-Adisa one soldier was moderately wounded after gunmen shot at the force. In a separate incident, one soldier was moderately injured and another three troops sustained light injuries by an antitank missile fired at their tank.

The Nahal division has so far located a large number of arms caches including a rocket launcher, 10 RPG missiles, a canon and 18 shells, around 14 raven missiles, a sniper rifle, IDF uniforms, and a guidebook for using antitank missiles.

Nahal division forces and the 401 Armored Corps division entered the area in order to neutralize an additional Hizbullah stronghold and to take out infrastructures in the area used to fire rockets at Israel.
