Palestinian officials said Monday that a Palestinian aged 48 was killed and his 19-year-old son was injured in a drive-by shooting attack near Nablus.
Palestinian security officials say the assailants were settlers.
Israeli army and police officials have not commented on the event.
A car overtook the car in which the Palestinian man and his son were driving and assailants opened fire. Eyewitnesses told Reuters that the car had Israeli number plates. The son gave a similar account.
The killed Palestinian man was identified as Houssein Mardawi of the Habla village near the West Bank town of Qalqiliya.
Mardawi and his son were driving a commercial car to Nablus when they were attacked. Mardawi died instantly from a bullet in the heart.
Palestinians say the incident occurred near the settlement of Migdalim.
Palestinians fear the attack is an act of revenge for rocket attacks from Lebanon and the kidnapping and killing of two settlers by Palestinians over the last four weeks.
