Annan hands Olmert Lebanon's complaint on Baalbek operation

UN Secretary General Koffi Annan transmitted to Prime Minister Ehud Olmert Lebanon's complaint about the IDF action Friday night next to the town of Baalbek. Olmert clarified to Annan that the operation was intended to prevent the rearming of Hizbullah.

In addition, the prime minister pointed to the importance of oversight on the Syrian-Lebanese border in order to prevent weapons smuggling. Annan updated Olmert on the advances made in building a multinational force in Lebanon. (Ronny Sofer)
