Donors conference raises USD 500 million for Palestinians

World donors on Friday raised USD 500 million in aid for Palestinians, including USD 55 million for a UN emergency appeal for humanitarian help, organizers said.
"I would say this is a fantastic result," said Carin Jamtin, Sweden's aid minister and host of the donors' conference held in the Swedish capital. A total of USD 114 million of the money pledged would go to humanitarian aid, with other money going toward rebuilding of infrastructure and other projects, she said. (AP)
