Labor officials: Budget discussions leading toward blowup with Kadima
Senior officials in Labor said, "The discussions on the 2007 budget are leading up to a blowup with Kadima. There is no intention to authorize the budget and to skip over the social issues without a hard fight."
Chairman of the party, Amir Peretz, has yet to respond to the expected cutbacks, but, he met Sunday with the prime minister and the finance minister to clarify that Labor will not allow a hit to the rise in minimum wage, and in elderly and child allowances. (Attila Somfalvi)
