Four UN human rights experts to visit Lebanon, Israel

Four United Nations human rights experts will visit Lebanon and Israel this week to meet with

government officials and civilians, and assess reported abuses during recent hostilities there, the UN said on Wednesday.

A statement released in Geneva said the experts would "gather first-hand information, establish facts and conduct an impartial legal analysis of the persistent allegations of violations of international humanitarian law and international human rights law during the recent conflict in order to make specific recommendations to the concerned authorities."
