Chief rabbis attend int'l conference on religion in Kazakhstan

An international conference on religion has opened Tuesday in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. Representatives from across the world, including countries like Iran, Libya and Malaysia take part in the conference. Israel is represented by its chief rabbis, Rabbi Yona Metzger and Rabbi Shlomo Amar.

The conference, held for the second time, aims at bringing religions closer together, and promoting tolerance, peace and resistance to violence. The Kazakh president, Nursultan Abishuly Nazarbayev, said at the opening of the event that "aggression in any form must be condemned." (Raanan Ben-Zur, Kazakhsatn)
