Israel captain Yossi Benayoun will sign a five-year contract this week to remain at West Ham United, he was quoted as saying by British media on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old midfielder was linked with a move to United's Premier League rivals Liverpool and Arsenal in the close season but has no intention of leaving Upton Park.
"I never said I wanted to leave the club. It's normal to have speculation and Liverpool and Arsenal are two big names, but I am happy at West Ham and I will sign a new contract in the next few days," he said in Wednesday's edition of The Guardian.
"Everything has been agreed and I will sign for five years. It shows I am very happy at the club and that the club is very happy with me," he added.
Playmaker Benayoun joined West Ham from Spanish club Racing Santander for 2.5 million pounds (USD 4.68 million) before the start of last season having also played for Maccabi Haifa.
