Bank Leumi CEO in US: Now is the time to invest in Israel

Israeli delegation in UJC General Assembly urges Jewish leaders to invest in Israel, promote education in country

Bank Leumi CEO Galia Maor told heads of Jewish communities in the United States Monday that now was the time to invest in Israel.

Maor serves as the Israeli chairman of the United Jewish Communities in North America (UJC).

Speaking at an investor conference held in conjunction with the United Jewish Communities General Assembly, Maor urged Jewish leaders to contribute to the promotion of the education system in Israel, and stated that: "Education is the highest yielding investment in Israel."

Other Israeli participants in the conference are Finance Minister Abraham Hirchson, Finance Ministry Director-General Yossi Bachar, and Bank of Israel Governor Stanley Fischer. The Israeli delegation's aim is to persuade investors to channel investments to Israel, or increase existing investments in the country.

"We've proven that the Israeli economy is very stable, despite the war," Hirchson said during the event.

In her speech at the conference's opening session, Maor said that in order to promote and accelerate Israel's development, "we need to join forces and take advantage of the best minds of the Jewish people."

She added that the State of Israel was financially strong, and more attractive than ever for foreign investments.
