Defense minister: I don't plan on harming production of Merkava tanks
Defense Minister Amir Peretz said that defense exports for 2007 will total about NIS 4.5 billion (USD 1 billion). "Everything you do people look at all over the world and this affects the defense exports," said Peretz during a visit to an IDF rehabilitation center.
Peretz added that he has not intention of harming the production of Merkava tanks, and the he taking action to ensure it will be in operation for many years to come. (Hanan Greenberg)
