Peres says presidential elections should be held immediately
Presidential elections need to be held immediately, if the current president resigns, said Vice Premier Shimon Peres. "We need to ask what's good for the nation in the reality that has been created," he said when asked about his bid for the position.
Peres revealed that, during the presidential campaign in 2000, he refrained from using information he had against current President Moshe Katsav, but added that he "does not regret it". (Attila Somfalvi)
