Ban Ki-moon: I will not meet with Hamas ministers
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon praised Mahmoud Abbas for establishing the unity government, but stated that for now he had no intentions to meet with Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh or any of the Hamas ministers.
"The political disposition does not yet allow us to do so, and we will have to wait and see how the new government accepts the international conditions," said ban. He added that the UN was happy to help promote the process. (Ali Waked)
