Three people were killed in three separate road accidents Thursday night in northern and central Israel.

The latest accidents took place near the entrance to Kibbutz Ma'agan Michael, on Road 4. One woman from Jisr al-Zarka was killed, another woman was critically injured, two were seriously wounded and another four were moderately hurt as a gas tanker collided with a private car.

Four of the injured were trapped inside the car after the crash and were rescued by fire fighters from Hadera. Police said eight women were travelling in the private car, although there was only room for five.

A 70-year-old female pedestrian was seriously injured in Haifa on Friday morning after being hit by a private car.

One man was killed and two were injured in a road accident on Road 75 on Thursday night, near Moshav Nahalal. The police reported that the driver of a private car lost control over his vehicle and crashed into a tree.

Rescue forces were dispatched to the area and determined the death of one of the passengers, a 23-year-old man from Nazareth. The other two passengers were evacuated in serious condition to the Haemek Hospital Medical Center in Afula. Police launched an investigation into the accident.

On Thursday evening, a 75-year-old woman was killed near the entrance to the Kaplan Hospital in Rehovot. A Magen David Adom crew evacuated the woman in serious condition to the nearby hospital, where she died of her wounds. The car driver was detained for questioning.

An initial investigation revealed that the woman tried to cross the street near the crosswalk and was hit by a car. The driver told the police that he was driving in green light and did not notice the woman.
