High Court cancels Chief Rabbinate decision on Shmita

The High Court has cancelled a decision by the Chief Rabbinate according to which local rabbis will decide on shmita (not farming land this year, once every seven years). The ruling said in places where the rabbis is unwilling to give a selling permit, the Rabbinate must authorize other rabbis to do so. (Aviram Zino)
