Lieberman: Palestinians must recognize Israel's Jewish, Zionist character
The government must stipulate that a Palestinian recognition in Israel as a Jewish and Zionist state is a precondition for any future negotiation, Deputy Prime Minister Avigdor Lieberman said in a letter to the prime minister.
"This is not a territorial dispute, but a dispute over Israel's character," Lieberman stated, demanding that the issue will be brought before the cabinet for a vote. (Roni Sofer)
