Palestinian sources: Israel to release ‘dangerous prisoners’ for Shalit
The Palestinian news agency Maan reported Thursday that Defense Minister Ehud Barak’s recent visit to Egypt helped further negotiation for the release of kidnapped IDF soldier Corporal Gilad Shalit.
According to Ma’an, Egyptian officials convinced their Israeli counterparts to be more flexible as to Hamas demands, and agree to release 200 Palestinian prisoners deemed ‘very dangerous’ by Israel. Among these prisoners are veteran prisoners, as well as heads of militant Palestinian organizations. (Ynet)
