Report: Islamic Jihad member killed in IDF strike

Palestinian sources in Strip report IDF aircraft fired at al-Quds Brigades lookouts in central Strip; one killed, two injured

Palestinian sources in Gaza reported Tuesday night that an Islamic Jihad member was killed in an IDF strike in the al-Bureij refugee camp in the central Strip.

 

According to the report, the man, Zaki Abu-Zeid, died after an IDF aircraft fired at a group of lookouts belonging to the al-Quds Brigades, the Islamic Jihad's military wing. Two other group members were injured in the strike.

 

The IDF did not respond to the Palestinian report.

 

On Sunday night, three gunmen were killed in two IDF airstrikes in the Strip. In the first strike, which occurred in the southern Strip at around 1:15 am, an IAF aircraft fired at a group of gunmen stationed near the border fence. Two were killed and three others were injured.

 

About an hour later, another strike took place in the northern Strip. Hamas sources claimed that the IDF killed a gunman and injured two others.

 

On Saturday afternoon, three Palestinians were killed and five more were wounded in an IDF operation in the northern Gaza Strip.The IDF confirmed forces operating in the Strip targeted a Palestinian cell en route to launch rocket attacks from against Israeli towns.
