Settlement's rabbi attends Arab-Israeli Land Day event

'I came to identify with the demand for justice; justice leads to peace, and this will be good for both Jews and Arabs,' Tekoa Rabbi Menachem Froman says during commemoration ceremony in Arabeh

Rabbi Menachem Froman from the West Bank settlement of Tekoa attended the 32nd annual Land Day commemoration ceremony at the Arab-Israeli village of Arabeh on Sunday, this after Knesset Member Mohammad Barakeh (Hadash) asked that Jews also participate in the event.

"I came to identify with the demand for justice; justice leads to peace, and this will be good for both Jews and Arabs" the rabbi said. "Today they are marking Land Day – a day in which justice is sought, and if there is justice, there will be peace on earth.

"I come here with a message of peace," added the rabbi, who was greeted warmly by several Arab-Israeli leaders. "The trust between the Jewish and Arab sectors must be rebuilt.

Far-left activist Tali Fahima, who was imprisoned for aiding Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades gunmen, including the group's Jenin head Zakariya Zubeidi, also took part in the ceremony.
