5.7 magnitude quake shakes islands north of Japan

A 5.7 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of the largely uninhabited Kuril Islands in the Pacific Ocean on Sunday, according to the US Geological Survey.

The epicenter of the quake was located 148 miles (238 km) east of Kurilsk, Kuril Islands, according to the US Geological Survey.
