Report: 5.3-magnitude quake hits southern China

A 5.3-magnitude earthquake hit southern China near the border with Myanmar early Wednesday, collapsing homes and forcing about 1,200 people to evacuate, the state-run Xinhua News Agency reported.

No deaths were reported, Sha Zhengcheng, the chief of publicity with Yingjiang County's Communist Party committee, told Xinhua. (AP)
