Police suspect Yigal Amir threatened wife's neighbor

Jerusalem resident says dispute with Rabin killer's wife prompted threatening phone calls

Yigal Amir in trouble again? Police are looking into suspicions that Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin's killer, Yigal Amir, threatened a neighbor of his wife Larissa following a dispute between the two. For the time being, Amir's phone privileges and visitation rights have been revoked.

Police officials in Jerusalem are looking into a complaint filed by one of Larissa Trimbobler's neighbors in the capital's Ramot neighborhood. The neighbor said he was threatened by Yigal Amir and his wife over a conflict pertaining to a damaged sewage pipe.

The neighbor says he asked Trimbobler to repair the pipe several weeks ago, but she refused and told him: "You know who I am and you know what I'm capable of doing."

Later, the neighbor is believed to have received a phone call from Amir, who presented himself as a lawyer and warned the neighbor about "messing with him."

Police investigators who are examining the complaint traced the calls made to the neighbor to a public phone at HaSharon Prison, where Amir is held. Police said two calls were made from the prison to the neighbor's home. The investigation into the affair continues, and should Amir be implicated he will face further disciplinary action, authorities said.
