Feiglin shuns Likud tour of Golan

Party hardliner says won't take part in northern excursion in protest of his bump from No. 20 slot of Knesset roster to 36th place; says only way Netanyahu can hope to keep Land of Israel's integrity is to reinstate him

Likud hardliner Moshe Feiglin said Monday that he would not take part in the party's tour of the Golan Heights, in protest of the Likud Elections Committee's decision to bump him off the 20th slot on the party's Knesset roster, down to a slot which is unlikely to get a Knesset seat.

The Likud's tour of the Golan is part of the party's cross-country campaign trail, ahead of the nearing general elections, which kicked off with a visit to the southern rocket-ridden town of Sderot on Sunday.

"If (Likud Chairman Benjamin) Netanyahu, who has already negotiated the future of the Golan, really wanted to convince people that he intends on keeping the integrity of Land of Israel, he can do only one thing – reinstate my slot, as voted for by the party members," he said.

"I've brought plenty of mandates to the Likud, until Netanyahu had me bumped… Today, when the Likud is losing mandates, he understands the mistake he's made and he's trying, once against, to hint to the Right through me. Bibi has realized that what he did to me may cost him the election."

Feiglin, who heads the Manhigut Yehudit ("Jewish Leadership") faction of the Likud, was elected for the 20th slot on the party's roster in its primaries, held in early December, but was bumped to the 36th place following a petition to the party's Elections Committee, which challenged the results.
