Livni: I didn’t come to Cairo to get permission for a military operation

Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni said at the end of her visit to Cairo that "with all due respect to Egypt, I didn't come here to get permission for a military operation and I wouldn’t want to make Egypt seem as if it was giving such permission."

Livni added that she had come to Cairo to make it clear to Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, who had expressed his concern over the escalation in the Strip and urged restraint, that the situation was intolerable. (Roni Sofer, Cairo)
