The al-Arabiya television network of the United Arab Emirates reported Sunday that a Hamas delegation is scheduled to leave for Cairo on Monday.

A statement released by Hamas spokesman Ayman Taha said that two of the organization's senior officials, Imad al-Alami and Muhammad Nasr, will travel to Cairo for talks upon Egypt's invitation.

The two are members of Hamas' exiled leadership and do not reside in Gaza.

Durimg the cabinet meeting on Sunday Shin Bet Director Yuval Diskin told the political echelon that, "There are first signs that Hamas is toning down its views in regards to a possible ceasefire."

"Hamas is willing to reach an agreement," the Shin Bet chief told the ministers, but warned that the rocket fire was expected to continue.

According to Diskin, "The Hamas leadership abroad is stressed, working to obtain a ceasefire and disappointed by the Arab countries failing to stand by its side. The situation of the leadership in Gaza is similar. A real threat exists today on the Hamas enterprise in the Gaza Strip. The leaderships in Gaza and abroad feel an existential threat."
