New Photojournalism project celebrates Jerusalemites

Shutterbug Nir Alon launches new website honoring the unique characters living in Israel's capital and gives Ynetnews a sneak peek

Jerusalem photographer Nir Alon has recently launched Tipusim.com, hosting a menagerie of interviews and profiles of Jerusalemites.

 

"Tipusim" he explained, literally mean "characters" in Hebrew and that is what the site is celebration - unique individuals.

"The essence of Jerusalem isn't hidden under ancient stones. It isn't masked by a cloud of mysticism and belief. The essence of Jerusalem is alive in the people that live here and in the uniqueness of each and every one – a diversified and spectacular human mosaic," he said.

 

"It's an unbelievable city with an amazing mosaic of people. It's the people that make the city!"

 

The site's first three profiles were shot in black and white and he hopes to add to them on a weekly basis.
