French FM says Durban II 'not a failure'
French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner said that the UN's anti-Racism conference was "not a failure" despite Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's harsh remarks against Israel.
"It was not a failure, but the start of a success… Despite Ahmadinejad's speech, we did not leave the conference. Our representatives returned to the hall afterwards," Kouchner said. (AFP)
