Libyan dissident sent to Jordan for medical care

Leading Libyan dissident Fathi al-Jahmi, detained by Tripoli since 2002, was transferred to Jordan for emergency medical care last week and is believed to be in a coma, his US-based brother said on Wednesday.

Jahmi's imprisonment has been an irritant in US-Libyan relations, which improved after Tripoli's 2003 decision to give up weapons of mass destruction programs. Libyan officials remain frustrated the relationship has not improved further. (Reuters)
