Imagination circus coming to Israel

Acrobatic circus show 'Illusia', inspired by 'Cirque Du Soleil' productions, will be performed at Israeli Opera house in June

Famed director Christian Kolonko brings an acrobatic, musical, sensory experience, to the Israeli Opera house with “Illusia”. The show combines award winning artists and classical music to transport the audience into an imagination dream world. Music will be performed by the renowned Raanana Orchestra and conducted by Omer Wellber.

 

Christian Kolonko is one of the worlds premiere variete directors. "Illusia" will feature an unbelievable array of sets and costumes that takes the audience on a visual journey. The show is artistically advised by Andrew Watson, the creation director for such Cirque Du Soleil productions as “Zumanity” and “Varekai”. “Illusia” will be a blend of classical music and aerial dance with elaborate sets and fantastic costumes.

The show is choreographed and co-directed by Cynthia Akanga, who has worked as an assistant choreographer for Cirque du Soleil as well.

 

Award winning cast

“Illusia” features a cast of acrobats and performers from around the world. Artists hale from Russia, USA, Germany, Great Britain, Canada, and the Ukraine. The show attempts to bring the dream world into reality. The lead soprano role will be played by Elisabeth Haumann who combines modern pop hits with classical music pieces.

 

Performing the spiral trapeze is the famous “Prima” who studied at the word-famous circus Nikulin in Moscow. The show features the Armenian Quick Change duo of SOS and Victoria. SOS and Victoria have been awarded “World Champions of Illusion”, “Best Cabaret Duo of the World 2008”, and hold the Guinness World Record for high speed costume change.

 

German Mime Clowns Mr. Edd and Lefou are the past recipients of the “Best Newcomer Award” and “Artist of the Year” by the international variete festival in Paris. Comedian Rob Torres has won four awards at the Budapest International Circus Festival. "Illusia" features many more renowned, award winning artists.

 

Tel Aviv Opera House  

“Illusia” blends together Cirque du Soleil style acrobatics with orchestral music played by the Raanana symphony. The show will be playing from June 25th-June 27th at the Israeli Opera house in Tel Aviv. Tickets can be purchased at the Opera box office or online at the Opera’s website. The combination of gravity defying acrobatics and music makes “Illusia” an exciting show for all ages.
