None

Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has issued an order instructing President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to cancel the appointment of Esfandiar Rahim Mashaie as his vice president, Iranian news agency Fars reported.

Mashai's appointment angered many in the Islamic republic due to his past remarks in favor of Israel. According to Khamenei, the appointment "contradicts the president and government's interest" and must be annulled. (Dudi Cohen)
