Israel's UN envoy: Lebanese fear Hezbollah
During a special Security Council session on the Middle East, Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Gabriela Shalev read excerpts from letters written by Lebanese citizens in which they demanded that Hezbollah refrain from storing weapons in the basements of homes.
"The explosion (at the arms cache in south Lebanon) was very dangerous, and it prompted us to publicly say what everyone is trying to conceal: Illegal arms are being stored within civilian population areas and in basements near our children," the Lebanese citizens wrote.
