Ahmadinejad tells Assad Iran, Syria are 'on same front'
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad met with Syrian President Bashar Assad and told him, "Iran and Syria are on the same front and any political occurrence is a chance that must be used in the best possible way – by assisting each other."
Isna reported that Assad had arrived in Tehran in order to congratulate Ahmadinejad on his victory in the elections and that he had said, "What is happening in Iran is an important event and a good lesson for foreigners." (Dudi Cohen)
